In Forced Type Evaporators liquid is circulated through the tubes at high pressure and high circulation rate by a circulation pump. High recirculation rates allow high fluid velocities along the tubes, which helps to minimize the build-up of crystals along the heating surface.
Forced Type Evaporators offer a more robust design compared to a falling film evaporator. For Falling Film evaporator designs, viscosity limitation occurs due to film deterioration, which causes dry spots to form in the exchange tubes. The forced circulation design overcomes the viscosity limitation thus providing a high level of control and stability as well as a significant reduction in fouling.
Advantages:
- It is used in processes where impurities causing pollution are intense.
- Provides short maintenance times with long operating times
- Optimized design with recirculation pump to reduce cleaning frequency
